How to read this site¶
Every paper is a short click-through lesson. Each page asks one question and answers it with one drawing and a few short steps. Press Next (or the → key) to reveal the next step; the drawing changes with it.
The parts of a lesson¶
| Chapter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Toolbox | The building blocks you need first, one per page. Skip what you know. |
| The machine | The paper's method, whole first, then part by part, following one running example. |
| Does it work? | The results that matter, charted from the paper's own tables. |
| Your move | The code, trying the model, what a reviewer would question, what came after, and a verdict for a real goal. |
| Check yourself | A few questions to lock it in. |
Quick tour ⚡: the pages marked ⚡ tell the whole story in about eight minutes. Pick it on the start page, or switch any time from the bar at the top.
Reading the pages¶
- The small line above each question says which earlier page it builds on.
- Pointers such as (§3.2), (Table 2), or (Fig. 5) show where a claim comes from in the paper.
- Steps tagged Our take are interpretation or opinion. Steps tagged The code describe the released code. Everything else is what the paper says.
- Captions say which numbers are real and which parts of a drawing are illustrative.
- Big numbers in a box are the one figure a page hinges on.
- Sliders and toggles run real arithmetic in your browser.
Your progress¶
Your place in each lesson is saved in this browser, so the start page offers Continue. Finished lessons get a tick on the homepage. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Difficulty¶
Ratings are for a reader who is intermediate in deep learning and strongest in speech AI: 1 Warm-up, 2 Comfortable, 3 Stretch, 4 Challenging, 5 Summit. Harder papers get more toolbox pages, not longer pages.
